Croping and selection tools

I used this assignment to learn and play with the adobe CS3 editing program. This program is somewhat different than my old one (Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2). I found that a lot of things were the same but named something different.

Cropping
For use of the cropping tool I chose a photo of the full moon that I took Tuesday evening.

I personally like the cropped one better because it focuses more on the moon and barn.

Layering and Selection Tools

I used a few different photos for layering and using the selection tools. I tried to have fun and make bazaar photos more than realistic ones.

First I combined parts of these three photos.....

and this is what I got!

Again just playing around to see what things do!

Really great job Christina! I love the way you break stuff down, simplify, explain, and show your work. It made the whole assignment seem to make more sense and give me clarity and inspiration. Thank you, I was lost in the sea of possibilities, getting nowhere , really enjoy you and your work. Diana

Cropping that picture with the barn really narrows the focus and it looks a lot better. I love the picture with the baby! I laughed when I saw it, and it's very creative.

I wish I had your merging skills. This was a first for me so it took some doing. I love the river baby. Hopefully I will be able to blend that smoothly soon.

Wow, that baby photo is really freaky looking. Don't you just love playing with size distortions? Even without photo manipulation I enjoy making small objects in the foreground look bigger than larger objects in the background.

Good job including the moon's reflection by the way.

Not sure if you ever seen it - it's a B Movie from the 1950's I believe - attack of the 40 foot woman... well the baby picture reminded me of it! I thought that was great how you put those three elements together to create something surreal! That is the best thing about doing this - you can actually create 'outside of the box'.

I love your combination of three photo's! It totally changes the atmosphere and feel of the photo. I also have CS3 and I can't wait to play with it.

Those are really beautiful shots. Great job with the composition on the barn photo and the moon and baby is just spendid. The flower child in me loves the powerful flower photo!
