For my first assignment I chose to photograph my fish. I took several shots and what I found to be most difficult was the fact that he kept moving. I would think he was in the shot but by the the the photo snapped he was gone. I picked the first photo because it shows my fish's character and just how mad he was getting. I love the second photo because I feel it kind of looks like a kaleidoscope. There were a number of other photos I liked but these two were my favorites.

I like how in the first photo the veins of the leaves look as if they are glowing, and that really isn't noticeable in the second photo. In the first photo the fish is in a great position for the photo. You are able to see all of him. The second photo reminds of a marble the way the swirls go through it and sometimes the air bubbles would be suspended within the marble, which can be seen in the top of the fish bowl. It also reminds of the way light reflects off a marble. I really like the second photo - the marble similarities remind me of when I was a kid.
Christina,
I really like the shots that you chose! In particular - water! Coming from the side where we have the 'fish tank' view - straight on we can clearly see what it is and it is not abstract in view. However, from the top where water refracts the image, the abstract effect becomes more pronounced (reminds me of matisse). Did you try any filters with this?

I love your second shot! You're right, the first shot really shows the fish's "expressions" lol. It is difficult to get shots of moving animals, but these came out very clear.
Very nice work here! One is a very personal shot (okay I know it's a fish) and the other is somewhat 'detached' interesting.
